Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina talked today in Sarajevo with the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor, who is in a working visit to B&amp;H, about the coronavirus pandemic, migration, B&amp;H's path to the European Union and the Brdo summit -Brioni that should be held in Slovenia.

The Chairman of the Presidency of B&amp;H, Milorad Dodik, assessed that the meeting was successful and that important issues were discussed.
At the press conference after the meeting, he said that the bilateral relations between B&amp;H and Slovenia are good and that there are no big open issues. He added that Slovenia is an important partner of B&amp;H in terms of the process of enlargement of the European Union and support for our path.
-I am grateful to the President for bringing us one important piece of news, and that is that Slovenia has decided to donate 4,800 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to Bosnia and Herzegovina, in support of such difficult times. We appreciate the efforts made by the President and the Government of Slovenia because we know that all countries are exposed to problems related to vaccines, and the assistance provided in that regard is very important to us- said Chairman Dodik.
He explained that the vaccines will be distributed according to the criteria that have been valid so far for the whole of B&amp;H - RS, the Federation of B&amp;H, and the Brčko District.
According to him, most of today's conversation was about how to fight the pandemic.
Dodik stated that the pandemic caused many economic difficulties, not only in B&amp;H but also in Slovenia, in all countries of Western Europe and around the world.
Another important issue discussed today is the issue of migration.
Dodik says that they informed the President of Slovenia about the fact that migrants use B&amp;H as a transit country and that a significant number of them stay here because "the lines of entry for Western Europe are getting hotter and harder for them".
He stressed that B&amp;H has collateral damage from that. According to him, people stay here, they do not want to stay, "they are becoming more and more belligerent in terms of going further, and the EU does not allow the arrival of new migrants on its territory."
The Brdo-Brioni summit was also discussed, for which there is an announcement and expectations that it will be held at the end of this month in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Dodik says he will put on the agenda all the issues discussed today, and within that one of the most important issues is EU enlargement and the prospects of that enlargement for B&amp;H, "in which there is a consensus that European integration is an acceptable thing for B&amp;H."

Slovenia has decided to donate 4,800 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to B&H

A delegation of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Defense Minister Sifet Podžić, continued the implementation of the official visit program to the Republic of Turkey through a series of activities in Ankara and Istanbul.

On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, Minister Podžić, accompanied by other members of the delegation, visited the Ground Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara, where he met with officials of this educational institution, as well as with our cadets.
Today, the MoD and AFB&amp;H delegation also visited the National Defense University and the Air Force Academy of the Republic of Turkey in Istanbul, where Minister Podžić met with our cadets and members of the AFB&amp;H who are studying in these institutions.
On that occasion, Podžić emphasized the importance of quality military education and specialist training for strengthening the overall capacities of the AFB&amp;H.
-The fact that you provided us with the largest number of places for our cadets to study abroad and cover all the costs of military training, confirms the friendly attitude of the Republic of Turkey towards the Armed Forces of B&amp;H, and thus the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which I am extremely grateful- said Podžić.
Currently, there are 92 people in training in the Republic of Turkey, of which 75 are cadets of the AFB&amp;H and 17 members of the AFB&amp;H who attend various types of courses, command and staff schools and other types of specialist training.
The Minister of Defense of B&amp;H demanded from our cadets a high degree of responsibility and professionalism during training, as a sign of gratitude for this type of assistance, stating that with "their quality military education we not only strengthen personal and professional capacities of AFB&amp;H personal gain ".

The Czech capital Prague and the Labour Ministry said there had been cyber attacks on their email systems but although the mayor of Prague said it was a large attack, he added the damage caused was limited.

-There has been a massive cyber attack on public service systems. The city’s servers survived the attack. An outage was made to install a safety patch to the emailing system- Mayor Zdenek Hrib said late on Thursday on Twitter.
On Friday morning, he said that the city’s emails were working and that there was no need to recover data from backup systems.
Labor Minister Jana Malacova told Seznam Zpravy news website that her ministry was attacked too, without giving further details.
The National Cyber and Information Agency (NUKIB) said it was providing assistance to the attacked institutions. There was no indication yet who carried out the cyber attacks.
-NUKIB, together with other partners, including the organised crime unit of the police, is helping the targeted institutions to solve the situation and to minimize the damage- the agency said in a statement.
It said that it would not comment further on the scale of the incident or specify which organisations were attacked.
The attacks followed several attempts to hack state organisations in the Czech Republic over the past year, including Prague airport or hospitals.
The Labour Ministry plays a key part in helping people affected by the coronavirus pandemic, as it distributes billions of crowns worth of aid.

Czech capital Prague, Labour Ministry face cyber attacks

Representatives of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of B&amp;H are working daily with their associates to improve the living conditions for 620 migrants who are currently staying in the Lipa camp near Bihać.

-According to the latest daily report, 620 people are currently staying here. Most are citizens of Pakistan, 450 of them, followed by about 80 migrants from Afghanistan, and a smaller number from other countries. There is evident progress from day to day when it comes to living conditions for these people. They are provided with adequate accommodation, distribution of food and other necessities, as well as daily medical care- said Deputy Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of B&amp;H, Mirsad Buzar.
As a novelty, he mentions a complex of medical and sanitary containers, in which it is possible to maintain personal hygiene and treat scabies. He pointed out that an open kitchen for migrants is being built, where they will be able to prepare their traditional dishes and socialize.
Apart from the distribution of daily meals, the restaurant space is also used for the organization of certain social activities. President of Caritas Europa Michael Landau visited the camp today and saw the significant improvement of conditions in the "Lipa" camp and the dignified treatment of migrants and refugees during his visit.
-Enormous progress is evident in the process of taking care of these people. I am pleased with the excellent cooperation between the competent state institutions and international organizations, which is now at an enviable level. This can now in a way serve as an organizational example for all other camps in B&amp;H, but also some other countries. Truly an example of efficient joint work and humane care of people in need- concluded the President of Caritas Europa Michael Landau.
Members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina are working on the rehabilitation of all access roads, while the process of cleaning and preparing sites for the construction of a container migrant settlement with a capacity of 1,500 people has already been completed. It was also confirmed that a project for the construction of a new camp has been made and that more favorable weather conditions and approval, i.e. support from the European Union, are awaited.

Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina Josip Grubeša received today Ambassador of the Republic of France to B&amp;H Christine Toudic in an inaugural visit.

During the meeting, Ambassador Toudic informed the Minister about the activities of France in B&amp;H and pointed out that the current bilateral cooperation between the two countries is successful, with a strong desire to continue this practice in the future.
Among other things, the Ambassador emphasized France's commitment to continue supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path to European integration, especially when it comes to judicial reform, the rule of law, and public administration reform. Both sides expressed interest in future cooperation between the two countries, especially in terms of education, training and additional training of the necessary staff.
Minister Grubeša underlined Bosnia and Herzegovina's commitment to the necessary judicial reform, reminded of the demands on its European path, and that with his full engagement he expects access from other competent institutions, the B&amp;H Ministry of Justice said.

Toudic: France committed to continue supporting B&H

B&amp;H Minister for Human Rights and Refugees Miloš Lučić talked today with Head of the European Union Delegation and EU Special Representative in B&amp;H Johann Sattler about the European Commission's Opinion on B&amp;H's application for EU membership, as well as activities that the Ministry needs to undertake to fulfill the priorities from the Opinion.

Lučić informed Sattler that the Ministry will undertake activities this month to initiate the procedure for the adoption of amendments to the Law on the Human Rights Ombudsman. The Minister pointed out that the formation of an inter-ministerial working group is in progress, and that the Ministry is preparing a draft text of the law that will be offered to the working group for harmonization and final elaboration.
Lučić emphasized the importance of further EU support in the implementation of the Regional Housing Program in B&amp;H, with the obligation of B&amp;H to provide a non-monetary contribution to the project in the coming period. It was also agreed that in the coming period, stronger work will be done on the promotion of this significant project in B&amp;H when it comes to the care of internally displaced persons and refugees from B&amp;H.
Minister informed Sattler that activities are underway to map the needs of internally displaced persons and socially vulnerable categories of the population, which should be completed by the end of this year.
The Minister and the Ambassador agreed that it is necessary for B&amp;H to adopt strategic documents in the field of human rights and anti-discrimination, the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of B&amp;H announced.

Engineers in central Greece on Thursday were assessing the damage from a strong 6.3 magnitude quake that injured at least 11 people, damaged scores of buildings and spread panic.

The recovery work began as scores of people from the villages of Damasi and Mesochori, some 240 kilometres (149 miles) north of Athens, spent the night away from their homes after Wednesday's quake.
Civil protection officials said tents had been set up at a local stadium for temporary accommodation, in addition to five hotels in the nearby town of Trikala and the main city of Larissa. 
Repeated aftershocks have struck the area, including a strong 5.2 magnitude tremor on Wednesday evening.
Crews inspected schools, hospitals and other vital public buildings in the area, in addition to homes, state news agency ANA said, adding that schools were closed on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the local governor said at least a hundred homes and other buildings in the broader area, including churches, had been damaged.
Emergency services told AFP 11 people had been injured. 
An elderly disabled man in Mesochori had a narrow escape when an entire side of his house collapsed, and over 60 children at the Damasi school, built over 80 years ago, were able to leave the building unharmed.
The state ambulance service said it had given assistance to 10 slightly injured people. 
In the main city of Larissa, a 55-year-old man was hospitalised with head injuries after being hit by falling masonry, a local hospital supervisor told AFP.
The culture ministry said four churches, including one dating back to the 17th century, had been damaged. 
The US Geological Survey said Wednesday's 12:16 pm (1016 GMT) quake, which was felt across mainland Greece, was of 6.3 magnitude. 
According to the Athens observatory, the epicentre was 16 kilometres (10 miles) south of the town of Elassona and eight kilometres deep.
Experts have stressed that fault lines in the area rarely produce tremors larger than the one registered on Wednesday.

Swiss chocolate makers were perhaps expecting a sweet spot as people turned to comfort food during the pandemic but are instead facing devastating 2020 figures showing consumption in Switzerland melting to a 40-year-low.

Chocosuisse, the national federation of Swiss chocolate makers, painted a bleak picture this week of the impact that the Covid-19 crisis had taken on the industry, with plunging production, exports and even consumption.
And Lindt and Sprungli, one of the wealthy Alpine nation's most famous chocolate makers, published its annual results Tuesday detailing a nearly 11-percent drop in its 2020 revenues, to 4 billion Swiss francs ($4.4 billion, 3.6 billion euros).
Amid lockdowns and a pandemic-fuelled economic crisis last year, it may not be surprising that Swiss chocolate makers overall saw their production fall, shrinking 10 percent compared to 2019, to 180,000 tonnes, according to Chocosuisse.
And exports, which account for nearly 70 percent of Swiss chocolate makers' revenues, fell by more than that, slumping 11.5 percent in 2020, to 126,000 tonnes.
More surprising perhaps is that the country renowned for its love of high-quality cocoa products, where people gobble up more chocolate per capita than anywhere else in the world, also saw consumption drop.

In fact, annual consumption fell to below the symbolic threshold of 10 kilogrammes (22 pounds) per person, dipping to 9.9 kilos -- the lowest level since 1982.

A major contributor to the drop, Chocosuisse chief Urs Furrer told AFP, was the steep decline in foreign tourists, who tend to tip the consumption scales.
The per capita chocolate consumption in a country is calculated by dividing the volumes sold by the number of inhabitants, leading to inflated figures in Switzerland, where chocolate treats are a favourite souvenir.
-It would be impossible to calculate the exact consumption of residents, because in shops, the salespeople do not know if their customer lives in Switzerland or is a tourist- Furrer said.
But the absence of tourists is not the whole explanation for last year's decline.
In Switzerland as elsewhere, the health crisis and accompanying restrictions including forced teleworking, has had a clear impact on consumption habits.
-Consumption also dropped in areas that are usually crowded with passers-by, like train stations and city centres- Furrer said, pointing out that chocolate was often an impulse buy by people on the move. 
Physical distancing requirements have also taken a toll on social occasions where handing over a box of chocolates might be expected.
-The sale of gift boxes of pralines has also declined- Furrer said.
At the same time however, the sale of raw products like chocolate masse usually used by chocolatiers, bakeries and patisseries rose last year as more amateurs delved into making their own sweets at home.

B&amp;H Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik and B&amp;H Presidency members Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović talked today with World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

They discussed difficulties and delays in the delivery of vaccines to Bosnia and Herzegovina through the United Nations COVAX mechanism.
The members of the Presidency of B&amp;H emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina has fulfilled all its financial and other established obligations last year and that it expects the same from the COVAX program and vaccine manufacturers operating within this program.
It was concluded that the Cover Letter and the Agreement on Compensation and Liability between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Producers should be signed as soon as possible, as subsequently added obligations, and the readiness of the Producers to deliver the entire quantity of vaccines within clearly specified deadlines was discussed.
B&amp;H Presidency members stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina meets all the technical conditions to immediately accept, store and distribute the amount of one million vaccines of all manufacturers operating under the COVAX program.
The members of the Presidency of B&amp;H thanked the Director-General of the World Health Organization Ghebreyesus for his support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in obtaining vaccines and requested that the WHO and COVAX program be included in this process until the final delivery of vaccines.

By the decision of the Government of Tuzla Canton, the remaining part of the funds that the canton received from the International Monetary Fund in the amount of almost 19 million KM, was directed to the main account within the Single Treasury Account.

The dominant part of the funds will be used to finance social protection rights and supplementary rights in the field of veteran-disability protection.
The Minister of Finance of TC, Vedran Lakić, pointed out that they did not want to spend those funds on salaries or material costs, but on what is most expedient.
-We have included these costs in order to justify the funds to the FB&amp;H Government as soon as possible and in order to create conditions for the next tranche of funds from the IMF, if that is the case- Lakić explained at the press conference.
Among other things, the cantonal government accepted the Information on the current situation regarding migrants for January 2021.
Officers of the Police Administration found and registered 173 migrants, who did not have identification documents or a certificate of expressed intention to apply for asylum.
-In the same period, 26 security-interesting events and six criminal acts committed by migrants, robbery, theft, aggravated theft of seal injuries and other were reported- said the spokeswoman of the TC Police Administration Amra Kapidžić at a press conference after the Government session.
Speaking about the country of origin, she emphasized that the largest number of migrants come from Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today at the Sarajevo airport that he would be happy if five or 20 lives are saved with 10,000 Astra-Zeneca vaccines that Serbia donated to B&amp;H today.

He explained that these are vaccines for the Federation of B&amp;H and that Serbia is ready to deliver any of the four types of vaccines it has.
Vučić wished good health to the people of B&amp;H and expressed his belief that doctors who receive vaccines will feel freer and that their lives will be more protected.
-At the meeting, I have just had with the members of the Presidency of B&amp;H, I asked them to think about the idea of making a big summit of cooperation and trust between Serbia and B&amp;H in Belgrade at all levels of government and economy- said Vučić.
He added that the goal of that summit should be an agreement on the greater opening of borders in the future to increase trade and the living standards of citizens.
-We can come from 1.9 billion euros worth of trade in 2019 to three billion euros if we work smart- Vučić believes.
He pointed out that we should not persist with the practice of talking badly about each other in front of foreign officials, because we need each other the most.
-Even today, when we all expected help from those who are much more powerful than Serbia and B&amp;H, we rely on each other because we in Serbia cannot be happy if people in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, or Bijeljina are not happy- said Vučić.
He said that the Balkan nations can help themselves the most when they understand that we are a force.
-That is why I suggested to my hosts that we should all speak together as much as possible because then we are stronger towards Brussels and the world when we can point out to problems together- Vučić underlined.

A meeting between Minister Podžić and the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey Hulusi Akar is planned during his official visit to the Republic of Turkey.

As stated in the press release, among other things, a visit of the MoD and AF B&amp;H delegation to the Turkish Military Academy in Ankara and the Turkish Air Force Academy in Istanbul is planned, where cadets, non-commissioned officers and officers of the B&amp;H Armed Forces are trained.

Mayor of the Brčko District Esed Kadrić, Deputy Mayor Anto Domić, President of the Assembly of the Brčko District of B&amp;H Siniša Milić and Vice President Ivo Filipović met yesterday at the City Hall with Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to B&amp;H Ulrike Hartmann and Michael Scanlan, Principal Deputy High Representative and Brčko District Supervisor.

District officials informed the Austrian Ambassador to B&amp;H and the Supervisor about the plans and obligations of the authorities in the District as well as about the most important infrastructure projects.
The Mayor said that Austria is a country that is a great friend of B&amp;H and that has been directly helping for centuries and as he emphasized, especially in the last few decades.
-At the meeting, we informed them about the short-term obligations we have set before us, especially in the legislative process, and we will soon pass a law on conflict of interest, which is very important in fulfilling our obligations and priorities in joining and membership in the European Union. We also informed them about our important infrastructure projects, among other things, the Brčko water supply project, i.e. the main transport pipeline, which was directly supported by the Austrian Embassy with over 450,000 EUR, thus confirming to be our great friend- said Kadrić.
