The First Instance Disciplinary Commission for Judges of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC B&amp;H/Council), deciding on the disciplinary lawsuit of the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor (UDT) of the HJPC B&amp;H against the defendant Ranko Debevec, President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, establishes the disciplinary responsibility of the defendant for disciplinary offenses prescribed in the Law on the HJPC, Article 56, item 22: “conduct in court and out of court that damages the reputation of the judicial office” and item 19: “intentionally providing false, misleading and insufficient information with any other matters within the competence of the Council ”, and related to item a) and c) of the disciplinary action.
The defendant is imposed a disciplinary measure for the stated disciplinary offenses, based on the provisions of Article 58, paragraph 1, item (b) and Article 59 of the Law on the HJPC of B&amp;H: Public reprimand.
The defendant was released from disciplinary responsibility for item b) of the disciplinary lawsuit.
An appeal against this decision may be lodged with the Second Instance Disciplinary Commission of the HJPC B&amp;H within 8 days from the day of receipt of the decision.
The Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor (UDT) filed a lawsuit against Debevec on April 2 this year. With that report, he was charged with inappropriate and intentional contact with Osman Mehmedagić Osmica, director of ISA, for putting pressure on the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H Vedrana Mijović and hiding information in his annual financial report, ie that he owns real estate in Spain.
It is a scandalous decision considering that Debevec hid the property in Spain for 14 years and did not report it in the property card, which he was obliged to do.

In her closing remarks, Chief Disciplinary Prosecutor Alena Kurspahić-Nadarević emphasized that the UDT had fully proven Ranko Debevec's disciplinary responsibility and suggested that the Commission impose one or more disciplinary sanctions on him.

Barić was a police officer who took a statement from Alisa Mutap at KCUS, but he did not seize her bloody sweater, although he had a clear order to do so.

The indictment also states that Barić questioned Zijad Mutap, Alisa's father, whom he has known for many years, at the KCUS. So far nothing has been known about it.
However, it is indicative that Barić also had a conversation with Alisa Mutap at KCUS, although he was not authorized to do so by the then acting prosecutor.
It was pointed out that Barić was interested in the degree of Dženan Memić's injuries and was collecting information about it. It all happened on February 8 and 9, 2016, in the late evening hours in the premises of this medical institution.

-We understand this message, in the light of current political events, as an extremely serious threat. We are afraid. The messages are anti-civilization and extremely ugly- points out Džemal Šendro, one of the residents of the village of Hrušta.
According to him, the locals informed the police in Nevesinje about this graffiti, and the on-duty team performed an investigation and made a report. Šendro expresses hope that the perpetrators of this shameful act will be discovered and identified as soon as possible, and their names and motives will be made public. He called on Bosniaks in this area to remain calm and restrained, but also to be careful.
-We must remain persistent and fearless. Hate must be defeated! It does no good to anyone. Justice and truth are the greatest ideals of civilization and in the long run they are the only perspective for the coexistence of peoples and citizens in Bosnia, and especially in Herzegovina- said Šendro.

The handover ceremony between the new High Representative Christian Schmidt and former Valentin Inzko took place today.

In front of the OHR building in Sarajevo, Inzko symbolically handed Schmidt a collection of all OHR acts.
After officially taking office, Schmidt said that he was coming as a friend of the people in B&amp;H and that he wants to serve them. He said that the position of the High Representative is exceptional. He also reminded that this office exists precisely to ensure peace. He said that he would have an equal attitude towards the rights of every individual and every nation.
-It is not easy to reach an agreement on some issues. That is why I am here, to carry out peace on behalf of the international community and to help citizens, constituent peoples and others to achieve a balanced peace- Schmidt stressed.
He thanked Inzko for being the high representative of the international community for 12 years. Among other things, he thanked him for the latest decision - a legal ban on denying the genocide committed in Srebrenica.
He pointed out the goal of strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina as a reliable partner to other countries.
-Achieving that goal will not be a one-way street. Everyone who wants to join the European Union must abide by and guarantee the rules of that alliance. But it is not an easy task- the new High Representative stressed.
According to him, the progress of society is possible only through a reflective approach to one's own past. He cited his homeland Germany as an example.
Inzko said at the handover ceremony that the OHR continues the same policy after him, based on the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its return to the European family.
-Christian and I have worked closely together in recent months, which was some kind of preparation for this day. I am impressed by his knowledge- said the Austrian diplomat who is leaving B&amp;H after 12 years in office.
In the evening, a reception is planned for the arrival of the new High Representative, at which Schmidt, former High Representative Valentin Inzko, State Secretary at the German Foreign Ministry Miguel Berger and B&amp;H Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić will address the guests.
A meeting between High Representative Christian Schmidt and members of the B&amp;H Presidency is scheduled for tomorrow, and his inaugural press conference for August 4.

Amazon was fined 746 million euros ($880 million) by Luxembourg authorities over allegations it flouted the EU's data protection rules, the online retail giant said Friday.

The fine was issued July 16 by the Luxembourg National Commission for Data Protection following its determination that "Amazon's processing of personal data did not comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)," Amazon said in a securities filing. 
-We believe the CNPD's decision to be without merit and intend to defend ourselves vigorously in this matter- the company added, using the organization's French acronym.
The fine was believed to be the largest ever for a data protection violation since the passage of the regulation.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) document offered no details, but Amazon was sued by a European consumer group claiming personal data was collected for ad targeting without permission.
The Luxembourg agency confirmed that it made a ruling this month on Amazon but declined to elaborate, saying its investigations are confidential.
It was the latest case of US tech firms being hit with violations of the landmark GDPR.
French authorities fined Amazon 35 million euros last year for failing to follow laws on browser "cookies" that track users. Google was hit with a fine of 100 million euros for similar violations.

Under the GDPR, which came into effect in 2018, internet users have a wider range of rights relating to their data.
Regulators have been armed with new powers including the ability to fine firms up to four per cent of their annual global turnover.
The GDPR has resulted in fines imposed not only on technology firms but marketers, data brokers, Austria's postal service and even the Spanish football association, La Liga.
Amazon made the disclosure as part of its quarterly update which showed profits jumped 48 percent from a year ago to $7.8 billion and revenues increased 27 percent to $113.1 billion in the April-June period.
