Borac footballers will begin their European journey from the first qualifying round of the Champions League, where they will have seeding status thanks to their coefficient of 13.125.

Banja Luka residents await the draw and monitor developments across Europe

If they manage to overcome the first hurdle, according to current projections Banja Luka residents would retain seeding status in the second qualifying round, which could significantly affect the potential draw and chances for continuing their European journey.

Borac has in the meantime learned of six possible opponents in the first qualifying round, so the club is already carefully monitoring potential rivals before the start of their new European adventure.

These are clubs that are champions of their countries, but due to weaker coefficients do not have seeding status.

Levski is the biggest threat among possible rivals

The most prominent name among unseeded clubs is Levski Sofia, which broke Ludogorets' dominance in Bulgaria after more than a decade.

Levski has a coefficient of 7.000 and will not be seeded and is certainly a club that Banja Luka wants to avoid at any cost, both because of the atmosphere in Sofia and the fact that it is a serious club with a long tradition.

A potential landmine could be Azerbaijan champions Sabah Baku, and then there are ML Vitebsk from Belarus, Lithuanian champions Kaunas Žalgiris, Georgian champions Iberia 1999, San Marino champions Tre Fiori.

Hungary and Romania under special attention

Banja Luka residents will closely monitor the conclusion of Hungary's championship, where Győr has a one-point advantage heading into the final round against Ferencváros.

If Győr wins the title, it could become a potential rival for Borac in the first qualifying round of the Champions League, because it would not have seeding status.

This is a scenario that Banja Luka would gladly avoid, as it would further intensify the competition among possible opponents.

On the other hand, if the Hungarian champion is Ferencváros, that club would have seeding status, which means it could not be Borac's rival in that phase of the competition.

In addition to developments in Hungary, attention in Borac is also directed toward Romania, where there is a fierce battle for the title, where a possible title for Cluj would mean they also would not have seeding status in the first qualifying round of the Champions League.

Champions of several other countries still awaited

Let us add that Borac will certainly have champions of Montenegro, Luxembourg, Albania, Malta as potential opponents, and who that will be will be learned when their championships are completed.

The complete list of first qualifying round participants will be known by the end of May when all championships in European leagues are concluded.

The draw for the first qualifying round is scheduled for June 16, and the draw for the second qualifying round will be held on June 17.
