False profiles of Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vjekoslav Bevanda turned up on social networks today, presenting official data and using photos of the Minister.

Since Minister Vjekoslav Bevanda does not use social networks, either personally or for official purposes, the Ministry of Finance and Treasury informs the public and persons receiving requests to follow the said profiles that these are fake accounts.

The strike of the Zenica and Breza coal mines ended today after an agreement was reached at a meeting held today in the premises of Elektroprivreda B&amp;H (B&amp;H Electricity Company) in Sarajevo on unblocking the accounts of the said mines.

-It was agreed that today, or tomorrow by noon, both accounts of the Zenica and Breza mines will be unblocked based on the request of the management of the two mines towards the FB&amp;H Tax Administration. So, the framework is an agreement that will be signed by the Tax Administration with the two mines on debt rescheduling for a period of ten years, and that will be a precondition for unblocking the accounts- said the FB&amp;H Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić after the meetings.
Reorganization and restructuring of the mines from the position of trade unions, as he pointed out, is a process that they do not want to give up, aware that it is the most important process for employees in coal mines in FB&amp;H.
Muhamed Kozadra, Executive Director for economic affairs of the B&amp;H Power Company, owned by the FB&amp;H, said that they have invested 320 million KM in the procurement of equipment and provided 204 million KM in advance for the mines that have been part of the concern in the last ten years.
-We paid the amounts to some of the mines, gave them more money than they need in order to deliver coal in annual terms. Therefore, we have paid 204 million KM in advance for the production of coal for the needs of thermal power plants- said Kozadra.
The public enterprise 'Elektroprivreda B&amp;H' as a concern, Kozadra emphasized, has obligations to restructure the mining sector, which accounts for 80 percent of the total electricity production.

Candidate for mayor of Srebrenica on behalf of the initiative "My address: Srebrenica" Alija Tabaković confirmed for FENA that they have made a final decision to boycott the elections in that municipality, which will be repeated on February 21.

-We have warned that we can no longer fight this system, alone against everyone. Unfortunately, the Central Election Commission of B&amp;H joined the discriminatory relationship of RS and Serbia. We had enough arguments, they had enough evidence to repeat voting by mail. We were initially deprived of about 800 votes outside B&amp;H, voting by mail. That part was not annulled, which would lead to at least two board seats- said Tabaković.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday accused the United States of siding with "terrorists" after blaming outlawed Kurdish militants of executing 13 Turks in northern Iraq.

Erdogan's comments came a day after Ankara said Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) rebels had killed 13 captives -- most of them Turkish soldiers and police officers -- they had allegedly abducted in southeast Turkey and kept in an Iraqi cave.
The PKK has been waging an insurgency against the Turkish state since 1984 that is believed to have left tens of thousands dead.
The United States and Turkey's other Western allies recognise the PKK as a terror group.
But Washington has supported another Kurdish militia in Syria that Turkey sees as an offshoot of the PKK.
Turkey this month launched a military operation against rear PKK bases in northern Iraq that Erdogan said on Monday was designed in part to free the 13 hostages.
"The statement made by the United States is a farce," Erdogan said in his first public comments on the incident.

The US State Department on Sunday it "deplores the death of Turkish citizens" but was waiting for further confirmation that Ankara's account of the 13 men's death was true.
The PKK said the 13 died when Turkish forces bombed the cave where the men were being kept.
-If reports of the death of Turkish civilians at the hands of the PKK, a designated terrorist organisation, are confirmed, we condemn this action in the strongest possible terms- the State Department said in a statement.
Erdogan said Turkey's NATO allies had to pick sides.
-After this, there are two options. Either act with Turkey with no ifs or buts, without questioning, or they will be a partner to every murder and bloodshed- he said.

Jaguar, the Indian-owned luxury car brand, will produce only electric vehicles from 2025 and restructure its UK non-manufacturing operations, the company announced Monday.

-By the middle of the decade, Jaguar will have undergone a renaissance to emerge as a pure electric luxury brand- said a statement from Jaguar Land Rover, which intends to become a net zero carbon company by 2039.
JLR said it "will substantially reduce and rationalise its non-manufacturing infrastructure in the UK".
It did not say whether this meant job cuts were on the horizon.
JLR will meanwhile invest £2.5 billion ($3.5 billion, 2.9 billion euros) annually under its 'Reimagine' plan, which sees the first all-electric Land Rover model in 2024.
-At the heart of its Reimagine plan will be the electrification of both Land Rover and Jaguar brands on separate architectures with two clear, unique personalities- the statement said.

France is set to dissolve Generation Identitaire (Generation Identity), a far-right group which declared a “war on migrants” in the country.

According to local media reports, the Interior Ministry notified the group of its upcoming dissolution, and it could be shut down unless it responds within 10 days.
The group is known for its discriminatory attitude towards foreigners and Muslims. On Jan. 19, around 30 of its members announced that they had launched an anti-migrant operation in the Pyrenees and would be conducting “border patrols” to prevent the entry of migrants to France.
In response, the public prosecutor in the town of Saint-Gaudens launched an investigation, accusing the group of inciting people to hatred and hostility.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said the group’s statements targeting migrants were “scandalous” and its dissolution would now be on the government’s agenda.
The group, which was founded in 2012, had distanced itself from violence-oriented neo-Nazi groups but has long remained a source of concern for security agencies, as its leading members have propagated white supremacist ideas and anti-Muslim and racist conspiracy theories such as “The Great Replacement.”

The body of a mountaineer, Rade Šimić, who lost his life on Sunday on Mount Prenj near the Cetina peak, was evacuated to Jablanica this morning with the help of a helicopter of the B&amp;H Armed Forces (AFB&amp;H), confirmed to FENA the B&amp;H Ministry of Defense.

Šimić died after an avalanche threw him on a rock, leaving his body in inaccessible terrain.
Rade's colleague, who was with him on Mount Prenj, also sustained injuries in the accident. Immediately after the report of the accident, several teams of the Mountain Rescue Services (GSS) were sent to the scene.
The AFB&amp;H helicopter flew right away yesterday, shortly after the report of the accident, but due to extremely severe weather conditions, the body of the victim could not be evacuated at that time.

The session of the Mostar City Council was terminated once again before the second round of elections for the Mostar mayor, and the third continuation of the constituent session is scheduled for Monday, February 15.

After the first round of voting for the mayor of Mostar that was held two days ago, in which Mario Kordić (HDZ B&amp;H) and Zlatko Guzin (Coalition for Mostar) received the majority of votes, the second and, potential third round of election was to be held today, but at the very beginning of the session, the BH bloc (SDP B&amp;H, Our Party) requested a break for consultations regarding their proposal to introduce the institute of a "rotating position for the mayor".

Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vojin Mitrović met in Sarajevo today with Turkish Ambassador to B&amp;H Haldun Koç and talked about continuing and accelerating the implementation of the Belgrade-Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway construction project.

The reason for the meeting is the signing of an agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in infrastructure and construction projects, which will include that project.
As planned, the agreement will be signed on March 16 in Ankara by Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The interlocutors also discussed Corridor Vc, the possibility of signing an agreement on mutual recognition and exchange of driver's licenses between the B&amp;H Council of Ministers and the Government of the Republic of Turkey, as well as a memorandum of understanding between the B&amp;H Civil Aviation Directorate and the Turkish General Aviation Directorate.
Ambassador Koç underlined that Turkey remains fully behind its promise to support a project to build the motorway and an expressway connecting BiH and Serbia's capitals, as evidenced by the signing of an agreement between B&amp;H Presidency Chairman Dodik and President Erdogan.
Mitrović emphasized that the B&amp;H Ministry of Communications and Transport will do its best to remove all administrative obstacles in order to start the construction of the motorway from Bijeljina to Sarajevo, as well as the expressway from Sarajevo to Višegrad and the border crossing with Serbia.

Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić received the newly appointed EUFOR Commander in B&amp;H, Major General Alexander Platzer, in an inaugural visit. 

Minister welcomed him to B&amp;H and congratulated him on taking over that responsible position of the EUFOR Commander, the PR Office of the BiH Ministry of Defense said.
Minister Podžić informed Major General Platzer about the progress regarding the obligations of B&amp;H Ministry of Defense from the Reform Program, emphasizing that everything is ready for the second phase of implementation, but that it depends on the finances that the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of B&amp;H will have.
Minister Podžić also pointed out the excellent bilateral cooperation with Austria, especially when it comes to the education of AFB&amp;H cadets. The new Commander was also informed about all the challenges that the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of B&amp;H are facing (pandemic COVID-19, migrant crisis, destroying of surplus weapons, etc.).
Major General Platzer thanked for the reception and stressed that he is impressed with the members of the AFB&amp;H and their enthusiasm. The newly appointed Commander said that he is aware of the financial difficulties, but the continuation of successful cooperation is unquestionable.
Platzer reminded that last year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, 80 percent of the planned exercises with the AFB&amp;H were done, and he believes that this year it will be at the same level.

British television channel BBC World News has been barred from airing in China, the National Radio and Television Administration said on Friday, a week after Britain’s media regulator revoked Chinese state television’s broadcast licence.In a statement issued on the stroke of the Lunar New Year, the administration said an investigation found BBC World News’ China-related reports had “seriously violated” regulations, including that news should be “truthful and fair,” had harmed China’s national interests and undermined national unity.
The channel therefore does not meet requirements for foreign channels broadcasting in China and its application to air for another year will not be accepted, it added.
China’s move was condemned by British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab, while the BBC said it was “disappointed”.
-China’s decision to ban BBC World News in mainland China is an unacceptable curtailing of media freedom- Raab said.
-China has some of the most severe restrictions on media and internet freedoms across the globe, and this latest step will only damage China’s reputation in the eyes of the world.-English-language BBC World News is not included in most TV channel packages in China but is available in some hotels and residences.
Two Reuters journalists in China said the channel had gone blank on their screens.

The newly elected president of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Halil Lagumdžija, reiterated today that he would be maximally engaged in improving the situation in the B&amp;H judiciary in terms of restoring confidence in the work of judicial institutions.

-My main goal will be to take all necessary steps to restore citizens' trust in an independent and impartial judiciary- said Lagumdžija during the break of a two-day session of the HJPC, a day after the election of the new leadership of that regulatory body.
Convinced that all members of the Council would work diligently in this area, Lagumdžija stressed the need to intensify activities in line with the recommendations of the European Commission and the findings of the reports by the experts.
He announced a committed engagement on the reform of B&amp;H judiciary, including the adoption of the HJPC reform program and a more effective fight against corruption and organized crime, the priorities set out in the European Commission's Opinion, as well as the adoption of amendments to the Law on HJPC.
-I will insist on the urgent adoption of amendments to the Law on the HJPC B&amp;H- said Lagumdžija, emphasizing the need to establish a credible system of checking the property records of judicial office holders, improving the appointment and evaluation process, and strengthening accountability and integrity within judicial institutions.
Answering a journalist's question about expectations and why he thinks that the new convocation and presidency of the HJPC B&amp;H will make a change and contribute to improving the overall situation in the judiciary, Lagumdžija reiterated that he personally wants to do everything for the B&amp;H judiciary to move in a positive direction.
He emphasized that in order to achieve that goal, he will seek full cooperation of partners and competent institutions in BiH, as well as the international community.
-We will do everything it takes to unblock these processes and move in a positive direction- Lagumdžija said explicitly, expressing his belief that the new leadership of the HJPC would find a way to respond to all the problems that currently burden the B&amp;H justice system.&nbsp;

Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Selmo Cikotić met today in Sarajevo with the Head of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in B&amp;H Laura Lungarotti.

The two officials discussed the operational implementation of defined priorities in migration management and increasing the security for the citizens.
Cikotić and Lungarotti, among other things, gave priority to the execution of works and the establishment of adequate accommodation capacities in Lipa near Bihać.
Preparatory works on access roads, water supply have already been completed at that location, activities for installing electricity have begun, and in the coming period, the installation of containers for the stay of migrants will begin.
Also, other projects to increase security within the reception centers in the Sarajevo Canton were discussed, as well as the safety of citizens in the local communities where the reception centers are located.
They emphasized the urgency of realization of these projects in order to improve the conditions of accommodation of migrants, but also to prevent safety infringement incidents and disturbances of public order and peace, stated the Ministry of Security of B&amp;H.
